The Wave Wall rebuild
After taking a trip to The Spot, in Boulder, I was energized to boulder really hard, so I decided to rebuild the far right section of the wall. I figured that I could bend some plywood and make a "wave", that would resemble a roof problem that comes into a slab for a nice top-out. It ended up to be a lot more work than what I had anticipated (duh!) as it always is, but I really enjoyed doing it so no time wasted, right? Following are pictures of start to finish of that section.

This is what it looked like previously, for about a year.

The wall starting to come apart.

This is what it looked like as I was building it. Very sturdy.

My window cleaning ladder snapped into a scaffold and became very handy.

I failed to get pics of how to cut the wood, but I just used a circular saw. This is the start of the wave!

I tried VERY hard to make two peices of 3/4 plywood work, but I just couldn't. It kept snapping and popping off the braces so I decided to scratch that idea and just go with one solid piece.

This was the next day. I told myself that I could do it in a Saturday, which might have happened if the first go at the plywood would have worked. The end of the next day I still wasn't finished.

The finished product! Also notice that I changed the roof into a 25 degree wall. I figured I'd use it more.
Cheers!

SWEET! This look awesome man. I am gonna have to get out bouldering to be ready for our December trip. Who would of thought I needed to train to go climbing in Iowa... I like the 25 deg wall also. That little roof was cool but didn't seem to make good problems. OH!!! Did I just notice a stopper in the corner!!!
Joe says now every hold is a route. No holds allowed, unless their on a route. Notice the organ dino route on the left (4 orange organ holds). I also have been allowed to put up holds. So far only one tho. behind Joe's elbow is a big red sit start, left hand to red, right hand to yellow, then match on the green. Flashed. :P Now I have to come up with another one...(most of Joe's are too hard 4 me).
Joe is starting to sound like a dictator.
"Hold Nazi"!! No routes for you!!
x14mvi Excellent article, I will take note. Many thanks for the story!
