My dad, and sister

My dad, and sister

March 13, 2010 - 7:14 PM

My sister, Molly, is back from Estes Park to visit while Amos, her husband, is in Austin at SXSW. She came up for a while with Dad and Mom today and I was able to talk them into getting their pic taken. It is weird shooting relatives, because you know them so well.

I'm very fortunate to have a very loving and understanding family.

Cheers!

I really like how in all the portraits you are capturing "expressiveness." I don't know if that is a real word, but in each of them they seem more about essence of something in the subject is coming out in each of the photos. And that something is continual, not stopped as in a regular awkward family portrait. Hmmm... maybe expressiveness is a Miriamism? :)!

Thanks, Dana. That is my goal in photography-to catch the person in an "unposed" situation. I believe this captures more of the persons' character.
